ABOUT RBAD 

Red Bluff Arts District is a vibrant community of artists, creatives and local businesses that came together to weave a tapestry of culture through their shared passion for the arts. This marked the inception of the Red Bluff Arts District, a testament to the power of collaboration, community and a celebration of artistic expression. 

Red Bluff Arts District started with a collective group of local creatives and businesses who, driven by their love for the arts and community health, recognized the potential of transforming their town into a hub of creativity. These visionaries believed in the transformative power of the ARTS to breathe life into the community, tell stories, and connect people in a unique and meaningful way. 

MURALS 

Red Bluff Arts Districts crowning jewels are its commitment to the ARTS. In 2019 Murals, with their vibrant colors and thought-provoking designs, began to pop up on buildings just before the pandemic, turning the once mundane walls into canvases that tell stories of the town’s history, culture, and the people who call it home. Residents and visitors alike are invited to take a mural tour, immersing themselves in the visual stories that unfolded around every corner. 

WILD ART HORSES 

The Wild Art Horse sculptures are yet another enchanting aspect of the Red Bluff Arts District. Local artists painted and sculpted life size fiberglass horses as a nod to Red Bluff’s past history, creating a unique and engaging experience for anyone wandering through the ARTS district. Each sculpture has a tale to tell, and the artist hopes to ignite conversations and inspire connection to our community and history. 

Performing ARTS 

Performing ARTS can also be found in the Red Bluff Arts district. The community embraces the magic of live performances and music, from the State Theater, Missoula Theatre and a music school to local bars with live music and open mic night, the performing arts are alive and well in the district. 

FINE ARTS/ART EDUCATION 

Traditional art education is also woven into the midst of the ARTS district. Solo artists, art schools and artisan boutiques open their doors, welcoming both seasoned artisans and aspiring crafters and beginning artist. The Red Bluff Arts District is a place where art education, exploration, and appreciation can be experienced from a beginning level to a master.

GALLERIES AND MUSEMS 

Galleries and musems within the district are the windows into the soul of the Red Bluff’s community. From the masters and sesoned artist to the new artists and local students they showcase their works, inviting patrons to explore the vast spectrum of artistic expression the Red Bluff Arts Districts. Historical museums are also woven into the fabric of the district, paying homage to the town’s rich heritage that started in the late 1800’s. The district has become a haven for artists, art lovers and historians, a place where one could immerse themselves in the beauty of paintings, photographs, sculptures, history and more. 

Red Bluff Arts Distict focuses on accessibility and the uses of art for community health. RBAD can make a positive impact on the well-being of Red Bluff’s residents. It creates a more inclusive and supportive environment, where art is not just a form of expression but also a means to improve the overall quality of life for everyone in the community. 

ARTS FOR ALL 

One of Red Bluff Arts District goals is to cultivate a sense of inclusivity within our Arts District by actively engaging our community with disabilities. Creating a space that focuses on clear communication and approachability is essential for addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities. The transformative power of the arts and the collective passion that thrives when a community comes together to create something extraordinary. Making art accessible is about breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can engage with and enjoy artistic experiences. It involves creating inclusive spaces, providing resources like easy-to-read materials and accessible maps, and fostering an environment where individuals with disabilities feel welcomed and accommodated. By prioritizing accessibility, art becomes a universal language, promoting diversity, understanding, and enriching the cultural tapestry of a community. It is a commitment to empowering everyone to participate in the transformative and inclusive journey that art offers. This initiative not only fosters a more inclusive environment but also ensures that everyone in the community can actively participate in and benefit from the cultural and artistic developments.

The Red Bluff Arts District stands not only as a testament to artistic expression but also as a symbol of the unity and vitality that can be born when a community comes together to create something truly extraordinary.

The Tehama County Arts Council is a non-profit organization committed to serving the community by cultivating an appreciation for the arts, providing artistic opportunities and events, and sponsoring and supporting local artists and artistic endeavors. Established in 1982 by the Tehama County Board of Supervisors to promote visual and performing arts as well as other cultural endeavors in Tehama County. the TCAC has coordinated, sponsored, funded, produced, and participated in hundreds of local arts events.

Tehama Creatives is dedicated to fostering and supporting public art in Red Bluff. This group of local artists believes that cultural, social, and economic value is gained through public art. Simply put, Tehama Creatives advocates for more public art in Red Bluff, trusting it will bring continued life and vibrancy to our community. 

Vision and Goals: Communities gain cultural, social, and economic value through public art. Public art is a distinguishing part of our history and our evolving culture. It reflects and reveals our society, adds meaning, and provides a uniqueness to our communities. Public art humanizes the constructed environment and invigorates public spaces. It provides an intersection between time, disciplines, and ideas. Tehama Creatives aims to bring more public art in Red Bluff to support life and vibrancy to our community. We believe it has the potential to visually connect spaces, inspire walkability, and attract visitors. Our goal to bring more public art to Red Bluff also aims to increase the level of pride in our community; foster hope for future generations who choose to live in Red Bluff and build vibrant, inclusive and diverse places for young adults. Through art, we hope it encourages them to raise their families here, start new businesses, and continue to add uniqueness to Red Bluff for generations to come. 

Public Art in Red Bluff fosters community pride, creates jobs, and brings tourism. Bringing more creative displays to our area can only enhance the uniqueness Red Bluff already boasts by developing an identifiable and defining visitor attraction for our community.

Job Training Center exists to build a workforce that meets the needs of our regional businesses. Since 1989 we have proudly invested in training, guiding, and employing thousands of Tehama County residents into gainful employment. Job Training Center is accredited as America’s Job Center of Tehama County and actively administers federal, state, local and foundation grants. We pride ourselves on a strong commitment to customer service, integrity, innovation, and excellent service delivery. Job Training Center is also the co-founder and operator of Washington Street Productions. A year-round job-training facility that creates and sells handmade home décor and supports local parents as they reenter the workforce. We actively invest and collaborate with artists, makers, creators, and designers to drive economic prosperity in Tehama County and believe that creativity carries the potential to transform our community. Significant collaborations include the installation of the Lassen Peak mural in downtown Red Bluff and the creation of the Red Bluff Arts District website in 2024.
